Porchfests are free annual music events held across the United States and in Canada on front porches. The idea first began in Ithaca New York in 2007. Porchfest events bring local musicians and neighborhoods together to celebrate and create a sense of community.
Porchfest Napa Valley debuted on a July afternoon in 2011 and has expanded year by year. This year, July 30th 2017, the event grew into a six-hour buffet of rock, country, folk, gospel, classical and other musical genres as an open-air showcase for more than 120 musical acts.
It's estimated that 15,000 neighbors walked the streets of Old Town Napa and Alta Heights neighborhoods in celebration of music. A tame crowd of families of various ages walked the streets singing dancing and enjoying that which is Napa.
A great small town event showcasing local talent and the beauty of our neighborhoods – Great Job Napa!
